The Alexandria Fire District is accepting applications for the above position. AFD is a very rapid growing progressive area, and offers a competitive salary & benefits package (laterals welcomed). AFD offers Fire, EMS, and Technical Rescue services, responding to over 1,500+ incidents annually. AFD operates with 2 day-time administrative staff, 5 - 24/48 staff, and are supplemented by volunteers and scholar students with an average in-house staffing of 7 personnel. The Alexandria Fire District Currently Offers:
Grade level is dependent on certifications: (400-hour certification, IFSAC I and II, IFSAC Haz Mat Ops, Company Level Fire Inspector). Laterals accepted per AFD Policy 100.14. PTO starts at documented career level years of service for lateral entry candidates with a career or combination fire department.

FF/EMT Grade 1 (0 cert) - $14.35 hr. (approx. $47,756.80 year)

FF/EMT Grade 2 (1 cert) - $14.50 hr. (approx. $48,256.00 year) *

FF/EMT Grade 3 (2 cert) - $14.65 hr. (approx. $48,755.20 year) *

FF/EMT Grade 4 (3 cert) - $14.80 hr. (approx. $49,254.40 year) *

FF/EMT Grade 5 (4 cert) - $14.95 hr. (approx. $49,753.60 year) *

The minimum qualifications include, but are not limited to:

Be at least eighteen (18) years of age at date of contingent job offer, and not older than 50 years of age

High School Diploma or GED
-
Possess a valid driver’s license
-
Have an acceptable Justice System Offense record and driving history

NIMS 100, 200, 700 & 800
-
150hr, 400hr, IFSAC I & II, IFSAC Hazardous Materials Operations certification, and Kentucky Company Inspector within 1 year of employment

Possess a current Kentucky EMT-Basic certificate at date of contingent job offer and date of employment.

Possess a current CPAT (Candidate Physical Ability Test) certification, unless exempt per KRS and Kentucky Fire Commission Regulations

Possess strong inter-personnel skills, technical abilities, and work ethic

Must be physically and mentally capable of performing job responsibilities
