Full - Time Firefighter Paramedic / Medic Only

 

The Alexandria Fire District is accepting applications for the above position. AFD is a very rapid growing progressive area, and offers a competitive salary & benefits package (laterals welcomed).  AFD offers Fire, EMS, and Technical Rescue services, responding to over 1,500+ incidents annually.  AFD operates with 3 day-time administrative staff, 5 - 24/48 staff, 1 – 50 hour per week staff, and are supplemented by volunteers and scholar students with an average in-house staffing of 7 personnel.  Application is available at www.afdky.org.

 

The minimum qualifications include, but are not limited to:

  • Be at least eighteen (18) years of age at date of contingent job offer, and not older than 50 years of age

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Possess a valid driver’s license

  • Have an acceptable Justice System Offense record and driving history

  • 150hr, 400hr, IFSAC I & II, IFSAC Hazardous Materials Operations certification, and Kentucky Company Inspector within 1 year of employment

  • Possess a current Kentucky Paramedic certificate with ACLS at date of contingent job offer and date of employment.

  • Possess a current CPAT (Candidate Physical Ability Test) certification, for Firefighter / Paramedic position unless exempt per KRS and Kentucky Fire Commission Regulations

  • Possess strong inter-personnel skills, technical abilities, and work ethic

  • Must be physically and mentally capable of performing job responsibilities
