A joint petition of the merger of the Alexandria Fire District and Southern Campbell Fire District was filed on March 18, 2024. On April 3, 2024, at 9:00 AM, the Campbell County Judge Executive, shall hold a public hearing, located at 8352 E Main Street, Alexandria, KY, 41001, for consideration of the merger petition filed by the trustees of the Alexandria Fire District and Southern Campbell Fire District. The Judge Executive will enter an order approving the merger petition unless an objection or remonstration is filed with the Office of the Campbell County Clerk by the end of business on April 2, 2024. The filed petition is for the merger of the Alexandria Fire District and Southern Campbell Fire District into a merged fire district to be named, Campbell Fire & Rescue. The legal description and survey of the merged fire district are as follows:

Beginning at a point in the centerline of the Licking River, approximately 71,600 feet south of its intersection with the Ohio River as it meanders, in the common line between Campbell County and Kenton County;

If fifty-one percent (51%) or more of the property owners of the territory sought to be merged into one (1) district may, at any time before April 2, 2024, remonstrate by written petition to the Campbell County Clerk, 1098 Monmouth Street, Newport, KY, 41071, regarding their objection to the merger of the districts. If a petition is filed, the Campbell County Clerk shall give prompt notice to the trustees of the Alexandria Fire District, Southern Campbell Fire District, and the Campbell County Judge Executive.

LEGAL NOTICE

ALEXANDRIA FIRE DISTRICT

The Alexandria Fire District Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting on November 21, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Campbell County Board of Education Office located at Alexandria Educational Center Board Room – 51 Orchard Lane, Alexandria, KY 41001. The purpose of this meeting is to receive information concerning the possible merger and/or consolidation with another fire district. No action will be taken at this meeting.

This Notice is prepared pursuant to KRS 61.820.

NOTICE

 

The Alexandria Fire District is accepting applicants from members of the Alexandria Fire District who qualify for the positions of Assistant Fire Chief. Attached to this email is the outline for the qualifications for this position. A copy of the requirements for Assistant Fire Chief are attached to this email. Anyone wishing to apply must submit their resume with all documentation that supports that they qualify under these guidelines must be addressed to Chairman Cooney and dropped off in a sealed envelope at the Alexandria Fire Station no later than 4:00 PM July 28, 2023. The Committee appointed to review the applicants will make their recommendation to the full Fire Board at the meeting to be held on August 8 at 6 PM.

AT THE MAY 9, 2023 MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE ALEXANDRIA FIRE DISTRICT, THE BOARD AUTHORIZED THE ACCEPTANCE OF RESUMES FROM FIRE DISTRICT MEMBERS ONLY FOR THE POSITION OF FIRE CHIEF. ANYONE INTERESTED IN APPLYING FOR THE FIRE CHIEF’S POSITION MUST SUBMIT A COMPLETE RESUME.

The Alexandria Fire District Board of Trustees is seeking nominations for the position of Firefighter Trustee. This is a four year elected position (July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2027).

 

Article VIII (Election of Trustees), Section 9: “When an election is to be held for the position of Firefighter Trustee on the Fire District Board, only those members of the Fire District Fire Department who are in good standing and who have been members of the Fire District Fire Department for a minimum of six 6) months prior to the date of the election can have their name placed in nomination for that position”.

KRS 75.013, Section 1(c), No person shall be an elected trustee who, at the time of his or her election, is not a citizen of Kentucky and has not attained the age of twenty-one (21).

Nominations for any Trustee election shall be submitted in writing on a special nomination form which will be provided by the Election Committee (see the acting Fire Chief). All nominations must be returned to the Acting Fire Chief at 7951 Alexandria Pike, Alexandria, KY 41001. Nominations must be received by 4pm on the 2nd Monday of May (8th) and will be opened only by the Election Committee at the May Board meeting (2nd Tuesday in May) (9th).

A nominations form can be obtained through the Acting Fire Chief.

Trustee election will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023 from 11 am to 2 pm at the Alexandria Fire District fire station, 7951 Alexandria Pike, Alexandria, KY 41001.
